Land Rover has some serious issues with bad brakes. Sport suv models from 2008-2014-2015 seem to be the bulk of this latest recall which covers steering, airbags, bike racks and BRAKES.
However there are recalls going back to 2005 on the Land Rover Sport, among many other Land Rover models. Not to be outdone, Jaguar, the LR sister company is also recalling XK sports-cars from 2012-2015 for *surprise* electrical issues involving exterior lights and software which can kill the batteries. A recent client leasing a 2012 XK convertible found her battery was constantly dying, even wiht daily driving. Repeated visits to the dealership could not “find” the problem? A new wiring harness was finally installed and software updated. The problem seemed to go away, but so did the car before the end of the lease. Dealers do NOT have all the parts to fix the suv’s or sports cars, and dealers are advising clients there is NO DANGER. I guess if you haven’t had a crash yet, you are okay.
