I am thrilled to introduce the 2011 Nissan JUKE to my MYCARLADY followers with my latest MYCARLADY test drives review on YouTube. This versatile car; crossover, hatchback was a surprising joy to drive, with plenty of room, solid seat comfort, and lots of power to get up and go with little effort. While the familiar CVT whine was present in ECO mode, when the TURBO BOOST or SPORT mode were on, this quirky, cute, four-seater buzzed through traffic and on the freeway with minimal wind or road noise and easy responsive handling. A tight turning radius made it a delight to park or u-turn, with a single finger. The innovative technologies Nissan has incorporated into this $18k-$24k compact offered an enhanced driving experience thanks to the DIG integrated control system along with the torque vectoring; sending differentiating power to each wheel. From a safety perspective, while not currently NHTSA rated for five stars, the 8 airbags and dynamic stability control; directing individual wheel braking will certainly lend credability and reassurance to the hesitant, fuel-economy seeking buyer. MPG in the SV version was 27-35 which includes a sampling of all three drive modes; eco, sport and normal. The only objection I had was the lack of a power seat in the SV, but you can have the JUKE in an AWD, and the SL package offers Leather and Heated/Cooled seats! There are optional packages to dress-up the base S model or SV version, but all the JUKE models have the same 1.6L 4cyl 188hp 177 ft lbs. of torque engine. Upgrading to the SV and SL gets you the ICON Turbo boost display, sunroof, 17″ alloy wheels ana few other interior amenities. It is rare to have so many luxury options in this market sector including Navigation, Rockford-Fosgate, heated and cooled seats… the JUKE is squarely aimed at the Honda Fit, MINI COOPER S, and Mazda 3 Speed. Personally, if you like the looks, it’s a solid winner!
