The 2012 Boxster is the last in the series as a new body arrives in Spring 2012 as a 2013, or maybe it’s a 2012.5 Porsche hasn’t really said yet… but either way, the mid-engine Boxster 6 cyl still packs a lot of fun, and frolic in this two-seater roadster. This may be the last year of the 3.2L flat 6cyl, so consider this in your shopping decision. The next incarnation is said to be a smaller, 4cyl. at almost the same price, and better fuel economy, but performance is a guess. But alas, I transgress, back to the 2012! The 7 speed PDK is as quick as any manual and actually faster than this old clutch-er could put out on the track. Thank you Porsche for the heated and cooled, memory power driver and passenger seat, a nod to those of us begging for some creature comforts. The Blue-tooth, Sat. radio and Navigation are also a welcome upgrade, along with the latest Bose stereo incarnation. You also have the ability to custom order (2013) almost every component to your liking, including a custom color to match your eyes, for another grand or so.
