New car sales are hot this season. The latest new car releases arrive as car makers hurry to market their 2013 models as summer sales heat up. The 2013 Porsche Boxster arrives in dealerships at the end of the month. This all new model sports great lines hearkening back to the era of the ’54 Spyder and all new 991 Carrera.  Wider, quieter with spine-tingling power and the  latest version of interactive steering once reserved for the Ferrari and Porsche racing teams. The Infiniti JX suv offers a sleek new look bending the lines of big brother QX and a touch of Mercedes Benz GL and ML in the rear. The big SAFETY push is in their integrated rear camera and braking sensors that stop the car before you realize there’s something in your way. Could this technology bring on a new level of distracted driving prevention? Dodge once again drags a name back from the past, in the hopes the DART will reinvigorate their small car line-up. While the DART may sound peppy and clever, those that had one will see little resemblance.  Consider this effort a move to replace the lackluster CVT Caliber, while broadening the entry-price selection of those inclined towards the Fiesta,  Aveo and Mazda2, but not as cute as the Fiat 500, New Beetle or Mini Cooper.

Cadillac XTS comes with a new lease program targeted at the Acura TL, BMW 5 series, Audi A6, Lexus ES350 and Infiniti G37.

Sharp lines and more room in the rear may wrestle a few buyers back to the luxury line as GM quality has certainly improved since emerging from bankruptcy.  The 3.6l 6speed 300hp rear wheel drive sedan has an option for 4wd and a hybrid coming next year. The proof of redemption will come in the showrooms, where a generation of import buyers expect a different sales experience, loaner cars and free wifi with their weekly car washes and cappuccino.
