What can you expect for car deals on July 4th Holiday sales events? The first thing to note is that the 2012 model year production is OVER. The last of the 2012 model year new car inventory has arrived and with it the sum total balance of rebates, incentives and special interest rates of 0% for those with great credit.
NEW CAR SALES heat up this 2012 Fourth of July.
This is the single BEST weekend to be able to score a terrific discount, collect all the incentives applicable to your situation and get the top dollar for your trade-in… on a brand-new 2012 model in the color and option package you want. After this July 4th sale event weekend, the selection will thin, first in the medium feature level, then the more fully loaded, best colors and finally your choice will be the ugly colors with the least amount of features and vinyl seats. The best rebates and incentives are on trucks and BIG SUV’S: 8 cyl. and 4wd GAS GUZZLERS. Diesel trucks and medium size suv’s in the Ford, Dodge and Chevy/GMC line-up have a little rebate ($up to 2500) but the big boys toys are giving up to $5000 in rebates. Import model trucks and SUV’s are right behind Detroit, with rebates up to $3000, but inventories are considerable smaller. Small suv’s and sedans are the bread and butter of the auto industry right now, and they need no incentive to sell, as demand far outstrips supply in the top selling Kia Sorento, Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, SantaFe, Toyota Venza, Rav, Honda CRV in a new body style, Nissan Rogue, Murano, Acura RDX and Lexus 2012 RX350 which has 2013 models on the ground now with minimal differences. The Ford Escape, Edge, Explorer, Dodge Durango, Jepp Grand Cherokee, Chevy Traverse and Equinox, are all enjoying strong sales, with rebates barley breaking the $2000.oo mark and 0% limited to 36 mos. terms for most of these popular models. Expect to see a pull back on trade-in values to $1000-$1500 off Kelly Blue Book TRADE-IN VALUE if your old beater has over 70k miles. The choice trades are bringing the top dollars when condition and paint are top notch and miles are under 10k per year. Discontinued brands: Pontiac, Saturn, Saab, Oldsmobile are valued at 50% of book value or .10 a pound, you pick.LEASING RETURNS End of Year deals on Luxury brands.
Leasing is still the best deal for luxury brands, but expect those cars to be g-o-n-e by August 1st, so move fast or lose the deal. NO JOKE, the European imports are holding back on their production until after summer break, when most German companies take the month of August off. Do not think you’ll pick-up an end-of-year deal in August, they’re on break. September starts up the 2013 production.]]>
