Findlay Acura hosts AARP Nevada CAR-EDU Car Repair Anti-fraud class.
“Seniors are often taken advantage of when it comes to car repairs, service needs and emergency procedures when involved in a car crash,”offers instructor Sarah Marks. The two hour workshop being hosted by Findlay Acura in the Valley Auto Mall, 315 Auto Show Drive in Henderson provides attendees with critical information to keep them safe from predatory practices involving car maintenance, body shops and dangerous driving hazards.
Single woman drivers unsure of car care and repairs.
“Understanding what to do when involved in a car crash, and dealing with insurance steering (the act of insurance companies promoting select body shops) can be very stressful, especially when unfamiliar with the process, terms and legal, best practices of the industry,” Marks explains. The first hour covers regular car care, factory service schedules and the latest news on recalls.
Hands-On demonstrations teach basic car care tips.
During the second hour of the CAR-EDU program, participants don gloves and practice testing tire pressure, changing air filters, checking wiper blades and fluids on their own cars. Findlay Acura product specialists close-out the course with a series of live demonstrations of the latest Acura safety technology: collision alerts, blind spot warning, lane departure, adaptive cruise control and many other systems designed to prolong mature driver independence.
