I’ve been doing some independent, unscientific research on Las Vegas used car shoppers on Craig’s List vs FACEBOOK.
Las Vegas has alot of used cars dealers utilizing
Craig’s List to promote their inventories, and I personally find the discrepancy between the quality of used cars for sale in Las Vegas and the new or used car dealerships that promote their cars on
Craig’s List to be as varied as the cars themselves.
However, I have found very few Las Vegas used car dealerships using either Facebook Marketplace, a relationship with OODLE.com, or the actual Sponsored ads or sponsored stories.
Which begs the question... Would you as the used car shopper or the car dealership business owner, feel better, i.e: TRUST knowing that to enter the Facebook community one must have a relationship with Facebook, and in some cases PAY $$$ to post a used car for sale ad on Facebook Marketplace or Facebook sponsored ads or Facebook sponsored stories?
Would you as the used car shopper trust Facebook more, less or about the same as Craig’s List, when responding to a “used car for sale” found online on one of these websites?
Does the TO-CLICK or NOT-To-CLICK challenge you from the perspective of future SPAM?
Does the idea of LIKING a Facebook ad, becoming a FAN of a business or responding to a post on the wall, somehow negate the used car dealer pressure or give you cause to pause?

Comparing CL with Facebook Automobile advertizing, I would say this:I give CL 10 out of 10, I give Facebook 2 out of 10.
Facebook is like a jungle, you get lost and do not now where to go, where to start. But CL is phenomenon and its free.
Facebook? Seriously? Not a chance. Total waste of time, effort and money. The CTR and visitor engagement is pitiful, even with a well designed Fan Page, integrated inventory and thousands of fans. Facebook is a wasteland of garbage and a great place to get lost in the mix. Sam was being overly kind. Let me put it this way, if you want to spend a lot of time, money and effort just to get 1/10 of a second of someone’s attention, then knock yourself out on Facebook (been there, done that, still doing it). Then again Craig’s list is really more for wholesale units and items you would otherwise send to auction. It’s an online garage sale. This is coming from someone who sells 100+ units a month online.
