HONDA FIT TEST DRIVE REVIEW

MYCARLADY HONDA FIT TEST DRIVE REVIEW tells all. I have been test driving all the new entry-level cars in the marketplace starting with the MAZDA2 and now the HONDA FIT. Next will be the Ford Fiesta, Chevy Aveo, ScionXD and anything else that starts around $16500.00 with air and manual transmission. The 2010 Honda FIT is a solid choice in this crowded class. The base and Sport model have the same 1.5L 117hp SOHC 16valve 4 cyl, but I think the SOHC adds to the sluggishness of the 1 and 2nd shift points, however that is really the only significant hesitation I had in the FIT. It is the roomiest in head room, leg room and storage with 20.6 Cu Ft when all seats are engaged. It is a 5 passenger if the middle person in the back is small and/or really skinny. There are no blind spots thanks to lots of glass all around. The interior is Honda typical, tight fit and finish, minimalist dash with simple well lit gauges, clever ergonomic dials and cool aluminum touches including paddle-shifters. The color selection is diverse, with clever features like split, fold and tumble second row seats, arm rest standard, ipod in the glove box. The upgraded stereo is well-balanced without throbbing against all the glass and you can add navigation and a moon-roof to the SPORT model’s 16″ alloys, fog-lamps, spoiler, stereo and shifters. Handling is nimble without being too tight, no over steer or under-steer in making turns or easing into highway traffic.  The wind and road noise some  people complained about I didn’t find overly excessive, more typical of cars in it’s class, but the car felt solid on the road.

Warranty is 3yr/36k basic and 5yr/60k drive-train and so far resale figures are holding strong. HERE IS MY HONDA FIT VIDEO… I encourage anyone considering a car in this group to take a good long look and test drive in the Fit. I gave it a 4.5 out of 5!
