Automotive Life Skills event in Henderson
School Vacation Event December 28th at the Kish Boys and Girls Club
The event is from 12:00 Noon to 4 pm at the Boys and Girls Club, at 401 S. Drake St, Henderson, NV Students from area high schools including Foothills, Basic, Green Valley, Boulder City, Las Vegas Academy, West Tech, Veterans and SETCA Magnet schools will be in attendance. Featured speakers include: Department Lead John Ventura, CSN Applied Sciences College teaching hands-on oil check, tire pressure, changing a flat tire, battery jumping and more. Jason Reichert, 17 year old Henderson native and Professional race car driver, discussing safety behind the wheel. NHP officers and Zero Teen Fatalities representatives instructing students in the proper behavior when involved in a traffic stop, impaired driving simulations and emergency crash procedures. Marianna Adecco from AAA will address parents and teens in the best way to save money on teen insurance premiums, roadside assistance and drivers education programs. Additional topics include the latest in automotive safety technology, hybrid and autonomous vehicles, new graduated drivers licensing rules and DMV procedures for teens under 18. Teen attending the event will be eligible to WIN an IPad/Tablet. In addition to receiving a completion certificate for 3 credit hours of drivers education.Free Teen Driver Automotive Life Skills Classes held at Boys and Girls Clubs across the Valley.
