My Car Lady

Leave your golden parachute Mr. Wagoner.

Rick Wagoner hits the road.  I guess his theory of  “the company would be better off with me running it…” didn’t play well with Washington. His dynasty didn’t play well in Peoria or any city where car buyers were voting their wallet on Toyota, Nissan and Honda. The Chevy Volt may be a great idea but it’s TEN years behind the Prius, or Insight and now eleven other hybrid vehicles on dealer lots.  What will happen next?  Here’s my suggestion: 1. Nardelli should take the high road and resign while it looks like the right thing to do, instead of the President’s idea. 2. Slap GM and Chrysler into the real world with a  2 month packaged Reorganization Bankruptcy and get it over with. 3. Chop the duplication in the car lines. Ramp up the production R&D on batteries and alternative fuels. 4.  Fix the union promise. Will the Canadian Auto Workers see the light. Chrysler says there is a $19.00/hr GAP between where they need to be and where they are today.  Considering Chrysler sales are in the toilet, and plants have been idle, I guess the wage discrepency only counts when you are working. Hello CAW, watch the UAW in the weeks ahead.  Work for what they can afford to pay or don’t work at all. It’s simple. Employment or Unemployment, all Americans are looking at the options as we head out the door to make a paycheck. We all have a choice. Work or No Work? 5. Get the GM and Chrysler Financial car loan banks to start spending their bail-out funds on car loans for consumers that need to buy a car. Any car; new or used. And finally, no more cash for these car companies until the books balance on the money they’ve already received. Tell GM and Chrysler executives; “You’ve been cut off from the tax payer’s allowance.”  To Mr. Wagoner and hopefully soon, Mr. Nardelli; ” before you go, leave that golden parachute at the door. “ ———————————————————————————– For FREE car buying advice go to FREE CAR BUYING ADVICE
