New Car manufacturers are pouring the deals, rebates and incentives on this July 4th, 2012
The 2013 models will continue to arrive earlier and earlier as gas prices hover at $3.50 a gallon and government CAFE standards insist we have more fuel-efficient cars.
The balance to this is to launch a model year sooner, and along with this come BIG rebates and incentives, 0% financing (short terms-best credit only) and lease deals on imports.
The incentives have stayed about the same since Memorial Day, however lease deals have improved, although this may not be to the consumers advantage if they are considering a lease termination-buy-out.
2013 PRICES INCREASE beg for comparision.
Expect to see prices increase 1-3% on new models for 2013, as the big three US car companies: GM, Dodge, Ford loaded with heavy v8 and Diesel truck inventory shove up to $4000 on these fuel- gas guzzlers. The only exception to this rule: The Ford Eco-Boost 6cyl is a hot seller and in tight supply so don’t expect much in discounts here.
Toyota, Honda and Nissan are spending millions to draw customers to their showrooms first.
The latest research shows more car shoppers doing their tire-kicking from the couch with their tablets and smart phones. As a result, dealers are beefing up their efforts to be the first visit and close the deal with heavy pressure and large doses of “giveaways” on the models sitting in larger quantities.
Make sure the dealership you visit online still has the car in stock, make an appointment to see it, take the test drive and be ready to deal.
The car shopping strategy changes on hot models, where the last of the model year is first come-first serve get it now.
“I’ve had a few angry emails from guests who left the dealership without the car, only to find it gone the next day,” stated a car salesman (anonymous by choice).
If you find the deal, grab it before it’s gone. There are no more 2012’s coming…
