Parents and Teen student drivers are invited to attend the FREE car care clinic and money saving workshop at Findlay Acura
Tuesday, May 19th, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.Speakers include Farmers Insurance, Agent Chris Sutter addressing the rising costs of teen auto insurance premiums, the reason why and how parents can save money.
SMARTeen Driver’s founder; Sarah Lee Marks, will take parents and teens through the practical hands-on techniques for basic car care and preventative maintenance.
Findlay Acura will have certified technicians demonstrate under the car warning signs.
FREE Car Care Clinic supplements driver’s education in schools.
“I plan to be completely transparent with the parents and teens about the latest follow-me and reminder phone applications to help keep young people safe on the road. This idea was born out of some friends sharing their frustrations with me about their teens destroying the family car due to negligence and lack of knowledge. I want every teen driver to learn to know their car like they know their cell phone, and love it the same way,” Marks continues, “Everyone gets to glove up and get into it. I think you get great satisfaction knowing you can accomplish things that save you money and make you feel empowered in the face of adversity. Owning and driving a car can be very challenging, whether it is a flat tire or a check engine light. Few people read the manual until there is a problem, and not everyone is a book-text learner. I am a visual learner, and that is how this class is designed. Learn by doing. Girls and boys, of all driving ages, need this information and are welcome to attend. and the best part is, it is free!”
All participants will have hands-on instruction in basic car care and emergency repair, best practices for servicing and monitoring vehicle alerts.
Food and beverages will be served. Gifts and prizes awarded, including 2 tickets to a Las Vegas concert/show.
Space is limited to the first 25 teen guests with parents. We want the parents to come and participate.
