Toyota began taking pre-registrations online to be the first to order the Plug-in Prius. No money is required at this time, but I imagine those registering will be able to get their hands on one of the first plug-in electric cars before the general public. The actual order process begins later this year according to the Prius Plug-in website.

Noting there were a mere 149 FACEBOOK LIKES, on the registration page, not many people know about this registration process.

The latest incarnation of the Prius should be out by 2013, which isn’t soon enough for some, but considering the success of the pre-purchase interest and delivery of the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt, consumers are ready to get off the oil cartel ferris wheel.
