Buying a Certified Used Porsche makes more sense than on most foreign vehicles for more than the obvious reasons.  Disclosure: Not because I work with Gaudin Jaguar-Porsche in Las Vegas, Nevada, but specifically because I see the typical service work performed on these exotic creatures and without a company-backed service contract, the cost to repair is not for the faint of heart. Now I have heard the cliches, but for the most part it isn’t from abuse or poor workmanship, that these cars require such attention. Age, climate and general day-to-day driving take their toll on cars designed to run like Secretariat.  I would never be afraid to own such an amazing car, and some day, with luck, I may be able to buy a pre-owned model. WHEN I DO GET THAT OPPORTUNITY,  I will gladly sign the CERTIFICATION paperwork. Certification of a Porsche can add at minimum 2 years and 24k miles to a car out of original factory coverage, but with a mile, minute or year to go, it can extend my comfort level up to 100k miles. The bonus to the Porsche Certification program is the special financing rates, low, low, automobile loan rates usually reserved for new cars (2.9%) or limited terms. NOT SO with Porsche CERTIFIED LOANS, you can get long term deals, as long as you have reasonable credit. SO the next time you start surfing for Pre-owned, lightly used Porsche’ don’t just click on the cheapest, with the lowest miles, look to see if a licensed PORSCHE dealership is selling the vehicle, and if it has a CERTIFICATION license plate or paperwork posted. The value of these packages can’t be measure in saving a  thousand or two while car- shopping online… it comes in the long term savings of having a certified used Porsche warranty AND in the tens of thousands saved on the car loan.
