Presidents’ Day Weekend Car Sales welcome Spring with vigor.
But yet, this year, the non-stop freezing polar vortex is crippling the east coast, and car sales.
Freezing temps and blizzard forecasts slow car shoppers.
Schools, stores and restaurants are blaming the weather for poor attendance and quarterly profits.
While weather has taken its toll on crashed cars, this is not enough motivation to drive consumers to make holiday car deals.
A bright spot in this stormy forecast is sales of 4wd and All-wheel drive suv’s and trucks are up. Capable of cutting a path to the slopes or making money clearing streets with a plow hook-up.
Auto Manufacturers have upped the rebates and FREE Registration offers.
Consumers will find their efforts rewarded should they make the trip to the dealership before Monday night.
Meanwhile, places like Las Vegas are experiencing above average temperatures pushing 70 degrees. Dealers like Gaudin Jaguar Porsche expect a surge in business from those workers celebrating Presidents’ Day with an extra day off. Presidents’ Day holiday will give eager car shoppers time to drive the latest 2014 models, now in plentiful supply. In a unique twist to 1st quarter sales, convertibles are enjoying strong sales over this time last year.
Auto market gurus say the increased demand for convertibles and sports cars is thanks to incentives and new models. The F-Type roadster from Jaguar is one such hot property.
All the luxury name plates are offering some type of low interest rates of 0%-2.9% during Presidents Day.
Many combine low lease payments for returning or competitive luxury make owners.
Luxury brands up the incentives as stock market profits and low interest rates push money out of the market.
Jaguar is offering first payment forgiveness up to $1000.00 on new 2013-2014 Jaguar XF, XJ, XJL, XK and F-type leases.
If you are a member of the Jaguar Club of North America, any region, you may also qualify for rebates up to $2500.00
Porsche’ latest salvo is a lease loyalty pull-ahead offer of up to $30,000.00. Competitive make lessees could grab up to $15,000.00 to make a move 6 mos. early. The least amount of money offered to take a new Porsche home this holiday weekend is $7500.00 for those with only 3 mos. remaining.
On other news, Toyota is suffering from two back-to-back blows on their top selling Camry and Prius. First with heated seats in the luxury level Camry, Avalon and several other models. Followed by new problems on the 2012 Prius hybrid.
